Abstract
The article investigates the legal institute of mediation as a legal mechanism of alternative solution of commercial disputes, discloses its application in European countries. It was formulated their own opinions on the need for the introduction of mediation in the economic process. The main shortcomings of the bill on mediation were revealed. Ways were proposed to improve the legal regulation of mediation in the economic process. \
