Integration of teaching and active learning in higher education.Methodologies, components and actors
Journal Title: Prohominum - Year 2024, Vol 6, Issue 1
Abstract
It is essential to transform the traditional conception of the components of didactics in order to promote active learning, this being an educational methodology that focuses on the active participation and direct involvement of the student in their own learning process. Unlike more passive approaches, such as simply receiving information, active learning encourages exploration, problem solving, and the practical application of knowledge. This methodology seeks to develop cognitive skills, social skills and the capacity for critical thinking. The purpose of this paper is to analyze some of the main theoretical and methodological aspects of active learning and its consequences in the learning process in higher education. Throughout the bibliographic review, the close relationship between the theoretical and methodological aspects of active learning and thechallenges involved in its implementation in the activity of teachers and students is evident, this being a totally necessary approach in modern higher education
