Intersemiotic rhetoric of the sentimental romance by E. Segal “Oliver’s Story”
Journal Title: Науковий вісник Міжнародного гуманітарного університету. Серія «Філологія» - Year 2017, Vol 29, Issue 1
Abstract
In the article, the phenomenon of “the film” is interpreted from the semiotic perspective, where its three distinct sign systems – the visual, verbal and sound – create one integral and indivisible image. It is noted that, as in the literary text, it is desirable to look for film tapes at levels of semantics, syntactics and pragmatics. In the process of comparative analysis of the sentimental romance “Oliver’s Story” with its eponymous script and film, it has been established that the main meaning divergences are observed mostly at pragmatic level.
