Investigations upon properties of the glue lines in furniture board elements edgebanded with functional adhesive layer

Abstract

Investigations upon properties of the glue lines in furniture board elements edgebanded with functional adhesive layer. For the experiments particleboards and edges with functional layer were used. The edgebanding processes with the use of air-tec® and laser-tec® and standard (with the use EVA and PUR HM adhesives) technologies was carried out in the Technological Centre of the HOMAG Comp. in Środa Wlkp. town. Investigations of the water- and thermoresistance of glue lines and adherence of the edges to the particleboard were carried out. It was stated that the tested glue lines showed in relative system with the standard technology the best aesthetic-decorative features and thermoresistance too, which allows for a wider application of the solution in furniture industry. Edgebanded board elements with the use of functional adhesive layer can be use in widely scale in the production first of all the kitchen and offices furniture and public equipments too. Keywords:
