KINESICS AS A PART OF NONVERBAL COMMUNICATION

Abstract
The article presents a review of the theoretical premises and main trends in the study of kinesics as a part of nonverbal communication. Main approaches to defining and study of the kineme – a unit of the system of paraverbal communication means as sign attendants of verbal speech in the process of communication – have been viewed in the given work. Kineme is treated as a proto-sign which are considered as auxiliary communicative means though they are highly informative. Main aspects in the study of kinesics are cross-cultural and sociolinguistic.
