"КИРИЛ И МЕТОДИЙ" ОТ СТОЯН МИХАЙЛОВСКИ: ИЗГУБЕНИ И ВЪЗСТАНОВЕНИ ИДЕОЛОГИЧЕСКИ ПОНЯТИЯ В БЪЛГАРСКАТА КУЛТУРА

Abstract
The paper analyses the hymn to the brother saints Cyril and Methodius, written in 1892 as a proposed general anthem of Bulgarian schools. In contrast to popular views, this poetry work glorifies the creators of Slavic literature utilizing both religious and secular contexts in order to depict their role as national patrons and architects of the Bulgarian identity based on the continuation of a unique Christian mission. The general ideas of the hymn are in contradiction to contemporary interpretations of Cyril and Methodius’ role as mere creators of the Slavic alphabet and educationists. Mihaylovski’s work demands a revision of existing approaches to classic Bulgarian literature in terms of broader and more accurate view towards the aspects of sacred and profane.
