Abstract
The Blood: „The Pulse of the Epoch”. From the History of the One Theme. Review of: Marek Kurkiewicz, The Pulse of The Epoch. The Place and Role of the Motif of Blood in the Literature of Young Poland, Bydgoszcz 2013 The paper reviews Marek Kurkiewicz’s The Pulse of the Epoch. The Place and Role of the Motif of Blood in the Literature of the Young Poland (Bydgoszcz 2013). The author points to the monographic character of the study of Kurkiewicz, who analysed all possible constellation of meaning, in which this motif occurs in the Modernist Period. At the same time, he notes that it is possible to further develop the topic concerning the methodology of research on the relationship of blood and sex, or the comparison of one’s blood to the blood of the others. In the conclusion, the author of this paper emphasises that the treatise is a significant scholarly achievement of Kurkiewicz.
