La protección de los derechos laborales en Cuba ante la pandemia de la COVID-19. Respaldo normativo
Journal Title: Revista Jurídica Crítica y Derecho - Year 2021, Vol 2, Issue 3
Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic has generated constant concern and hard work in order to mitigate the impact that this disease has had on all spheres of social life. The objective of this work was to assess the labor and salary treatment provided by the Cuban State to protect the stability in the employment of workers, and to guarantee compensation in the event of work interruption in connection with the current health emergency situation. The methodology used on the basis of qualitative research was descriptive. As a result, a systematization of temporary employment, salary and self-employment measures, applicable during the current epidemiological situation in Cuba, was produced. Similarly, it could be concluded that despite having enacted a set of measures to protect workers and guarantee certain labor rights, there are still situations that must be ordered in order to guarantee the labor rights of all workers, as regards work at hand, distance and teleworking, the social security rights of workers hired by a natural person employer, and their employment opportunities in health or other emergencies.
