LEXICAL AND WORD-FORMING TYPES OF ABSTRACT NOUNS WITH SUFFIX -СТВ(О) IN NEW UKRAINIAN LANGUAGE OF THE XI – XIII CENTURIES

Abstract
The study of the dynamics of lexical and word-building types of abstract nouns is one of the topical problems of modern linguistics. The article clarifies the origin of the suffix -ств(о) as one of the derivative resources of abstraction. On the material of the Ancient Russian-Ukrainian language the peculiarities of the word-forming of nouns with abstract meaning with the help of formant -ств(о) were analyzed. It was established that already in the Old Slavonic language this suffix was productive in substantive and adjectives word-formation. Monuments of the XI–XIII centuries have shown growth of productivity of this formant, expansion of its derivational possibilities
