Liberdade e educação: compreendendo (im)possibilidades e limites

Abstract
This work shows the studies carried out about the senses and meanings of liberty and its interlinks with the education. Due to that, it was necessary to reflect about the (un)possibilities and limits of the education for liberty. A bibliographical research associated to the methodology of Oral History in the modality of Thematic Oral History was accomplished. Teachers from public and private schools at the city of Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul State, Brazil were interviewed. This study was divided in four parts. The first one, its analyze the senses and meanings of the liberty. The second part, its point the limited liberties. These liberties are realized commonly in the educational field. The third part reflect about the liberty and the democracy. The last part stress the education for liberty, the dialogue, the compromisse and the responsibility.
