LIFE AND SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITY OF OMELYAN PRITSAK DURING THE SECOND WORLD WAR

Abstract
The article is devoted to the study of biography and scholarly work of O. Pritsak during the Second World War. The key events in the life of the historian are highlighted, which together influenced on his professional development. The greatest attention is paid to the so-called Lviv period of O. Pritsak’s activities. The circumstances of moving to Germany for study are considered in details. The research shows the professional formation of the historian in spite of the difficult conditions of the war.
