LINGUAL CHARACTERISTICS OF NEW ENGLISH VOCABULARY IN THE SOCIAL NETWORK FACEBOOK

Abstract
The lingual parameters of new English vocabulary in the social network FACEBOOK has been investigated in the article. As a result of the study, it has been determined that the active ways of new English vocabulary formation in the social network FACEBOOK are affixation, composition, blending, conversion, abbreviation. The mechanism of analogy also plays an important role in the formation of new words. The mechanism of analogy functions when a new lexical unit is formed on the model of an existing lexeme by replacing one of its component. It has been found out that new lexical units of the social network FACEBOOK are represented by semantic neologisms.
