Low-Cost Test of An RF Mixer For Wi-Fi Applications
Journal Title: IOSR Journals (IOSR Journal of Electrical and Electronics Engineering) - Year 2018, Vol 13, Issue 1
Abstract
This Paper Proposes A Variety Of On-Chip Monitors In Order To Implement A Low-Cost Test Methodology For Circuits And Radio-Frequency (Rf) Systems After The High Volume Production Stage. It Is Not The First Time That We Publish Such Monitors But The Aim Of Our Work Is To Extend The Library Of Rf Circuits Circuit Under Test (Rf Cut Lib) On Which Our Sensors Are Evaluated. Notice That For Each Rf Circuits The Proposed Monitors Must Be Adapted To Be Able To Present A High Test Coverage. The Monitors Are Called "Dummy Circuits" And "Process Monitors". These Monitors Have No Electrical Contact With The Circuit Under Test And Do Not Touch The Signal Path. In Fact, They Are Placed At The Layout Level Near The Circuit Under Test. Consequently, During The Manufacturing Process, They Follow Similar Process Variations As Those Of The Circuit Under Test. During The Test Step, The Performance Of The Rf Circuit Will Be Predicted From The Dc Measurements At The Output Of These Monitors Using The Alternative Test Technique. We Also Designed Other Monitors That Are Dc Probes, An Envelope Detector And A Current Sensor. These Monitors Are Physically Connected To The Various Critical Nodes Of The Circuit Under Test In Order To Detect Catastrophic Faults That May Occur In The Circuit Due To An Imperfection In The Manufacturing Process. The Introduction Of These Monitors Degrades The Performance Of The Circuit Under Test Which Requires A Co-Design Effort To Meet The Pre-Defined Specifications. The Proposed Monitors Will Be Now Evaluated Using Post-Layout Simulations On A Rf 2.4 Ghz Mixer Used For Wifi Applications.

A Comparative study on Different ANN Techniques in Wind Speed Forecasting for Generation of Electricity
There are several available renewable sources of energy, among which Wind Power is the one which is most uncertain in nature. This is because wind speed changes continuously with time leading to uncertainty in availabili...
Optimized Microstrip Patch Antenna (MPA) Array Design To Enhance Gain For S-Band Application
The modern wireless communication system requires high gain, large bandwidth and minimal size antenna’s which are capable to provide better performance. In this paper firstly optimized single element MPA is designed and...
Performance Analysis of Amorphous Photovoltaic Module Technology in Laâyoune -Morocco
The main objective of this work is to study the performance of photovoltaic module based on silicon amorphous technology (a-si) installed on the roof of a building 10 m high of ESTL (Morocco). The system was monitored be...
A Novel Soft Switching PWM Dc-Dc Converter
This paper presents the design of a soft-switching boost dc-dc converter. Passive soft-switching is employed due to its advantages over the active soft-switching and its ability to reduce switching losses. A Laplace tran...
Design of power system stabilizer for damping power system oscillations
The problem of the poorly damped low-frequency (electro-mechanical) oscillations of power systems has been a matter of concern to power engineers for a long time, because they limit power transfers in transmission lines...
