Magnetic properties of monodispersed α-Fe2O3 nanoparticles synthesized via a chemical precursor
Journal Title: Carbon - Science and Technology - Year 2013, Vol 5, Issue 3
Abstract
We report a novel sol-gel type chemical synthesis technique to develop monodispersed magnetic hematite (α-Fe2O3) nanoparticles. The obtained α-Fe2O3 nanoparticles have an average size of ~23 nm with a hexagonal crystal structure (space group R c) of lattice parameters a = 0.5034 nm and c = 1.374 nm. The samples were characterized with X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), high resolution-transmission electron microscope (HRTEM) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM).

Magnetic properties of electroless nickel-phosphorus coated multi-walled carbon nanotubes.
Nickel-phosphorus (EN) deposited multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were prepared using an electroless plating technique. The D.C and A.C magnetic behavior of the composites showed that pre-acid treatment of the MWCN...
Energy from Biomass – Comparision of biogas production at ambient temperature and at mesophilic temperature in semicontenous anaerobic digester using vegetable market waste
Studies are conducted in semicontinuous anaerobic reactors of 2 L Capacity with effective volume of 1.5 L. Experiments were carried out in the mesophilic temperature range maintained at 35 °C in a thermostat, and paralle...

Magnetic susceptibility of oxygen adsorbed on the surface of spherical and fibrous activated carbon
The magnetic susceptibilities of oxygen adsorbed on the surface of bead-shaped activated carbon and activated carbon fibers were evaluated as a function of temperature between 4.2oK and 300 oK, and found to exhibit a sha...
Ferromagnetic Ni-doped ZnO nanoparticles synthesized by a chemical precursor method
A simple chemical synthesis method of pristine ZnO and Ni-doped ZnO (NixZn1-xO; x = 0.01-0.05) nanoparticles is reported. Structural and morphological properties of the synthesized nanoparticles have been studied using X...
