Metabolic syndrome as an interdisciplinary problem (literature review)

Abstract
The article analyzes the literature data concerning the diagnostic criteria and combination of metabolic syndrome and its components (arterial hypertension, obesity, insulin resistance, dyslipidemia) with a number of diseases, in which the pathogenesis plays a significant role in metabolic disorders. Therefore, metabolic syndrome should be considered as an interdisciplinary problem, especially because co- and polymorbidity with its participation develop with age.
