Middle atmosphere Aerosols, Dynamics and Monsoon Variability: a Review
Journal Title: International Journal of Research in Chemistry and Environment (IJRCE) - Year 2012, Vol 2, Issue 3
Abstract
Some dynamical parameters of the middle atmosphere such as quasi-biennial oscillation in the low-latitude stratospheric zonal winds, interannual variability of the high-latitude middle atmosphere and stratospheric warming in the tropical middle atmosphere are studied to examine their roles in determining the variability of rainfall over India during the summer monsoon season. It is believed that the amount of sulphurous gases released into the stratosphere from the great volcanic eruptions modulates the climate (rainfall). The authors have made an attempt in this paper to present a review of the work done so far in this direction.

Production of Xylanase by Aspergillus flavus FPDN1 on Pearl millet bran: Optimization of Culture Conditions and Application in Bioethanol Production
The production of extracellular xylanase by a locally isolated strain of Aspergillus flavus FPDN1 was studied for optimization of cultural conditions and saccharification followed by bioethanol production. Among the v...
Characterisation of Leachate Material from Dam Concrete by X-Ray Diffractometer and FTIR
:Leaching of CaO from the concrete in contact with aggressive water is a usual problem leading to degradation of the structure. The quantity and quality of the leachate material needs to be constantly monitored for s...
Performance Evaluation of Laterite Soil and Geo Textile Material for Media Based Stormwater Filtration System
Urban stormwater runoff carries sediment and contaminants from impervious layers like streets, pavements etc. Stormwater reaching out into the surrounding clean water increases the concentrations of turbidity, suspen...
