Abstract
Chinese banking system gradually opens to the global economy. The role of foreign banks in People’s Republic of China and activity of Chinese banks abroad is rising. The aims of the paper are to present the evolution and internalization of Chinese banking system and to identify factors that influence this processes. Additionally the paper outlines the challenges facing Chinese banks.
