Mothers’ Point Of View For Early Childhood Period

Abstract
Early childhood period is the period when development is the fastest. In every stage of the period, it is necessary that physical, psycho-motor, social –emotional and cognitive developments should be supported. In this period, it is of great importance to recognize children and evaluate them. Throughout this period, child needs the care for parents or the caretakers in the place of parents. Creating a positive point of view in this period will help children to be an individual with self-esteem, with a developed positive personality being able to express himself and cooperate with others. In this sense, it is of significance to determine mothers’ point of view who are the ones who are in the closest interaction in the early childhood period when development is the fastest. In the current study, it was aimed to determine mothers’ point of view over early childhood period. The working group of the study comprised of the mothers of 16 children at the age of six attending to a kindergarten acting under the Primary Schools of Ministry of Education in the central towns of the city of Karabük in the educational years of 2013-2014. ‚Semi-structured interview technique‛ was used to gather data in the research. The data obtained were examined descriptive statistics methods. Findings and conclusion were discussed in line with research results.
