Мыслеобраз границы: социокультурные проекции (The mental image of the boundary: sociocultural projections)

Abstract
The author analyzes the specific character of the use of the term “boundary” in the scientific research and emphasizes the necessity to combine intellectual and emotionally-shaped cognitive strategies in a study of the phenomena related to “boundary”. In this case, however, the author focuses his attention on the logical component of “mental image” of the boundary. In the text, general contours of the semantic field of the term “boundary” are indicated and general features of the «boundarity» as a special condition of the person and society are allocated. At the same time, Y. G. Shemiakin notes that the social cultural quality of «boun- darity» may differ according to a degree of maturity and historical stability. According to these criteria, the concepts of «boundary situation» and «boundary civilization» are differentiated, and the specific character of the «boundary» civilization systems in comparison with the great classical civilizations of the Orient and the Occident is investigated.
