NARRATION UPON FOUNDATION OF A STATE: THE HİSTORY OF ÂŞIK PAŞAZADE

Abstract
Of the Tevarih-i Ali Osmans written on foundation period of the Ottoman State, the one written by Âşık Paşazade is in promi-nent place in the literature. Âşık Paşazade erected his book based directly on current period and surrounding. In the mentioned book, not only historical events were described, but as well regional geography was described. Furthermore, while tradition, customs and law of war of the state were explained, poems gave literary view to the book. As the book written in public language, it displays unsophisti-cated and fluent language, considered as distinguishable feature. In the present study, significance of Âşık Paşazade was tried to be presented with regard to the information on foundation of the Ottoman Empire. Again in the same period, factors effective in founda-tion of the Ottoman Empire and information presented by other historians regarding the relevant period.
