Forms and conditions of success in a small business

Abstract
Aim of the elaboration is to present different variants and indications of success in activity of small enterprise which is operating in complex economic conditions. Article assumes that a small enterprise can succeed by development and expansion of the enterprise, and through efforts to maintain the company or by ensuring the survival and avoidance of business failure. These forms of success have different rank and are applied depending on conditions in which the enterprise is functioning. On the strength of studies conducted among the group of 300 enterprises in Lodz region there were presented characteristics of various macroeconomic, sectorial and internal factors which influence the capa-bility to achieve success through development of the enterprise.
