Prediction of the pull-out strength of chemical anchorsin natural stone
Journal Title: Frattura ed Integrità Strutturale - Year 2014, Vol 8, Issue 29
Abstract
The applicability of some numerical models for the prediction of the failure mechanism and of thebearing capacity of post-installed threaded rods chemically anchored in basalt, sandstone and limestone isinvestigated, as well as the reliability of theoretical formulations conceived for concrete. The numerical predictions, performed by means of engineering structural analysis software and advancednumerical codes, are compared with the results of an experimental research related to chemical anchors innatural stone. The minimum embedment depth for such fastening system is identified.

Computed Tomography analysis of damage in composites subjected to impact loading
The composites, used in the transportation engineering, include different classes with a wide range of materials and properties within each type. The following different typologies of composites have been investigated:...
Effect of the model’s geometry in fretting fatigue life prediction
This paper analyses the influence that the type of geometry used to obtain the stress/strain fields in a cylindrical contact has on fretting fatigue life predictions. In addition, this work considers the effect th...
Subsurface metals fatigue cracking without and with crack tip
Very-High-Cycle-Fatigue regime for metals was considered and mechanisms of the subsurface crack origination were introduced. In many metals first step of crack origination takes place with specific area formation b...
