RESTAURATIV TREATMENT DIRECTED AT PATIENS WITH OCCLUSAL DISHARMONIES

Abstract
20 patients (8 Males and 12 Females) were selected end examined, who presented acute and chronic occlusal disharmonies. The patients were divided into two lots: the first lot - 6 patients with occlusal disharmonies, who presented signs and symptoms of temporomandibular dysfunctions; the second lot - 14 patients with occlusal disharmonies, but missing those signs. The clinical examination of dental occlusion gives us some guidance data on morphological occlusal disorders. In this context, in the occlusal rehabilitation additional data is necessary, regarding occlusal status, which can be obtained by paraclinical investigations. The combination of contemporary diagnostic procedures - condylography, teleradiography, computer tomography, cephalometry, have improved the diagnosis of occlusal dysfunctions, as well as the rehabilitation possibilities. This has allowed for a more accurate recording and evaluation, through some programs for synthetic analysis of occlusal parameters. On diagnostic moulds mounted in an adjustable articulator, the occlusal morphology technique by Slavicek was used, afterwards serving as a guide in directed rehabilitation through modified techniques of direct restorations.
