The Evaluation of Water Use Efficiency in Common Bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L) In Irrigation Condition and Mulch

Journal Title: Scientia Agriculturae - Year 2013, Vol 2, Issue 3

Abstract

The effects of irrigation interval and straw mulch on Water Use Efficiency of common bean, split plot experiment in a randomized complete block design with three replications was conducted in the Astaneh Ashrafiyeh in the 2012 crop year. In this study include no irrigation and irrigation water management with Intervals 6, 12 and 18 days and different amounts of straw mulch containing 0, 1, 2 and 3 cm in each plot was selected. The results showed that a different level of irrigation management and mulch on yield was significant. Comparison of mean data showed that the highest seed yield in irrigation management 6 day Interval to the value 2431.3 kg per hectare. While the minimum value seed yield was in non-Irrigation condition with 653.3 kg per hectare. In the case of the effect of mulch levels on seed yield, results of mean comparisons show that the highest value obtained in 1 and 2 cm mulch per square meters was to arrangement with 1585.6 and 1518.4 kg per hectare. Lowest seed yield value with 1034.1 kg per hectare was in non-mulch condition. Water use efficiency in the irrigation management based on seeds was significant. In the irrigation 18 day intervals for the seeds this water use efficiency was 0.58 kg/m3.
