Journal Title: Polski Przegląd Otorynolaryngologiczny - Year 2012, Vol 1, Issue 1
Abstract
Non-epithelial neoplasms are not the most frequently diagnosed neoplasms in otolaryngological practice. In comparison with epithelial neoplasms they are quite rare in the area of the neck. Non-epithelial neoplasms may originate from different tissues: lymphoid, soft tissues, bone and cartilage and there is a huge number of possible histopathological results. However the diagnosis of these tumors is often diffiult and delayed. The literature of non-epithelial neoplasms of the neck is quite poor. In the article there are presented general information of epidemiology, etiology, classifiation, diagnostic tools and treatment of non-epithelial neoplasms of the neck on the basis of literature.
