NUMERICAL ANALYSIS OF DAMAGE DURING HOT FORMING
Journal Title: Computer Methods in Materials Science - Year 2018, Vol 18, Issue 3
Abstract
The main aim of the presented research is the analysis of damage evolution in 16MnCrS5 steel during hot forming based on results obtained from finite element modelling. Particular attention is put on the interaction between dynamic recrystallization (DRX) and damage initiation at the matrix-inclusion interface. Moreover, a modified Gurson-Tvergaard- Needleman (GTN) model is proposed with the nucleation criterion taken from an extended Horstemeyer model, which predicts damage nucleation based on material softening due to the DRX and stress state in the material.

THE USE OF COMPUTER IMAGE ANALYSIS IN DETERMININGBMATERIAL FLOW IN THE ROLLER PRESS DURING COMPACTING OF FINE-GRAINED MATERIAL
Mechanisms of fine-grained material flow in a roller press are a constant subject of research. The proper transfer of feed in the feeder has a significant influence on the correct course of the compaction and consolidati...
A SIMULATION STUDY ON THE CLOSED-LOOP CONTROL OF SCREW PRESS FORGINGS USING THE IMPACT ENERGY AS CONTROL INPUT
Screw presses are energy-restricted forming machines that use rotational energy stored in a flywheel for forming, which is converted into a linear movement by a threaded screw. Screw presses are widely used for forging s...
RULE-BASED CONTROLLING OF A MULTISCALE MODEL OF PRECIPITATION KINETICS
One of the most important obstacles of widening of multiscale modelling is its high computational demand. It is caused by the fact, that each of numerous fine scale models has comparable computational requirements to a c...
USING THE HYPERGRAPH GRAMMAR FOR GENERATION OF QUASI OPTIMAL ELEMENT PARTITION TREES IN TWO DIMENSIONS
The paper presents the graph grammar model of Finite Element Method allowing for speeding up performed numerical simulations. In the presented approach, the finite element mesh operations are performed together with oper...
CELLULAR AUTOMATA MODEL OF CARBONITRIDES PRECIPITATION PROCESS IN STEELS
Cellular Automata (CA) model of carbonitride precipitation in microalloyed steels is presented in the paper. The model accounts for an increase of dislocation density due to plastic deformation and predicts kinetics of p...
