On the Definition of the Concept of "Territorial Sea"

Abstract
Article is devoted to the historical development of the concept of «territorial sea». It is noted that in the literature on the Law of the Sea, as well as acts and regulations are sometimes found the notion of «territorial sea» and «territorial waters» to mean sea belt adjacent to the coast of the state, subject to his sovereignty. In this case, the application of double the term «territorial waters (territorial sea)», or their separate use as identical can be explained by the fact that in some states’ territorial waters is designated as territorial waters in the literal sense, as well as «internal waters». The need of amending the Law of Ukraine «On State Border of Ukraine».
