ORGANIZATIONAL AND LEGAL MECHANISMS OF RIGHTS PROTECTION OF PERSONS DEPRIVED OF LIBERTY

Abstract
The article presents an analysis of the basic organizational and legal mechanisms of rights protection of persons deprived of liberty, which are defined as international standards in the relevant international legal acts adopted by the Council of Europe and the UN General Assembly. The systematization and generalization of these mechanisms is carried out. The main functions of international institutions in protecting the rights of persons deprived of liberty (European Committee for the Prevention of Torture and Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment; the Subcommittee on the Prevention of Torture and other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment the dignity of the treatment and punishment of the Committee Against Torture; and the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg), such as the supervision of penitentiary institutions and the consideration of individual complaints are studied and analyzed.
