ORGANIZATIONAL COMPETENCY MANAGEMENT: A COMPETENCE PERFORMANCE APPROACH

Abstract

The past decades competencies and competency management have been in the centre of attention in business and in media. Indeed, in many organizations competency management has been implemented where it became one of the major human resource tools. However, it is still unclear what competencies really are. Furthermore, employees often have a negative attitude towards competency management. The aim of this research project is to study competencies and competency management attentively, to shed light on the competency concept and to identify factors that influence the success of competency management.
