Original way of interpretation of the topic of woman-mother in Shevchenko’s poem «Marііа»

Abstract
The article is devoted to the investigation of the poem «Mariɿa» by T. Shevchenko. It is said to be one of the best world examples in dedication poem to Virgin Mary. The main purpose of the article is to outline the predominant trends in the critical analysis of the poem, to ¿ nd the basic vectors of researches. Special attention is payed to show the original interpretation of the theme woman-mother of the poem in the works dedicated to its investigation. The article also deals with the main ways of interpretation the moment of Annunciation depicted in the poem. The subject of scienti¿ c research is a reception of the interpretations of Shevchenko’s poem in literature studies through the religious, aesthetic, textual, historical points of view. The diachronic and synchronous analysis of the major critical studies about the poem is made. The author traces the change in emphasis of poem’s analysis from atheistic understanding in Soviet times to the deep Christian in modern scienti¿ c discourse. The focus is also on the immanence in the Ukrainian literary science the way of understanding reality through the points of view of Christian spirituality. The prospects for future scienti¿ c research are outlined.
