''Orthodoxal Capitalism'' and Contemporary World Ideology: Theological Ideas of Metropolitan Hierotheus Vlachos.

Abstract

The research deals with the famouse contemporary Greek theologist metr. Hierotheus Vlachos' views on the problems of public development, historical fate of socialism and capitalism, post-communist society prospects and new post-capitalism ideology tendence forming. The conceptual ideas of metr. Hierotheus Vlachos about the public development and ideological justification and the future of the contemporary world are contextualized in the frame of orthodoxal social, philosophical and thological thought. The article indicates that the import system of capitalism and socialism is transferring their ideas into the real social practice of the contemporary society construction and development, due to the import of the specific ideologies. In the conclusion it indicates that the influence of capitalist ideology on religious, in particular on the Orthodox thinking and consciousness is great, due, in the first place, to the historical fate of socialism, the collapse of the victim as a real social practice in the post-Soviet countries. The influence of socialist ideology remains strong both in the secular social theories and doctrines, as well as in the social doctrine and practice of the social service in Orthodox churches. This can be seen as a consequence of certain common basic ideas of structural features of the church construction and the specificity of the human community, adopted the Orthodox church communities seeking to preserve the evangelical tradition is incompatible with the spirit of a materialistic and hedonistic oriented of the capitalist society.
