Abstract
The Role Of Educatıon In Ottoman Modernızatıon Process Modernism, Western Europe's economic, social and political change process is a concept describing. Modernism has changed the traditional feudal social struc-ture based on agriculture and has emerged a different social structure based on in-dustrial production.The result of the development process of modernization and de-velopment has made it into a model for non-Western societies. Ottoman for a long time maintained the advantage over Western Europe.But begin to decline in the face of Western Europe have resulted in the taking Western models of the Ottoman Em-pire. Ottoman the first military field has models of Western Europe, but over time it has been realized in the field of education and other institutions. This situation Ottoman Empire led to the establishment of a Western-style education approach. The adoption of Western-style educational institutions has been com-pletely transition to the Republic together. This article discusses the place and role of education in the process of modernizing the Ottoman and Republican periods.
