PECULIARITIES OF THE DEFINITION OF THE WORD “ORPHAN” IN UKRAINIAN AND AMERICAN PEDAGOGICAL SCIENCE AND PRACTICE

Abstract
An appeal to pedagogy in the study of issues of abandonment is necessary, because knowledge and experi- ence, reflected in works of folklore, customs and rituals, works of applied art are the basis for the development of modern pedagogical knowledge. In the article the author highlighted the definition of the word “orphan” and considered it in the context of American and Ukrainian legislative framework and pedagogical science.
