Physiological grounding of rhesus-compatible hemotransfusion

Abstract
In this article the authors discuss transfusion characteristics of RH blood group system. They reveal the key causes of RH incompatibility between donor and recipient. The main factors causing RH-sensibilization are introduced. In this regard, authors provide a detailed description of Rhesus genes and biochemical structure of RH antigens. The main focus is on the discussion of accuracy of the terms that define rhesus belonging. The authors argue the possibility (or necessity) of moving off the terms «RH-positive» and «RH-negative» and initiate the discussion.
