The monastery belonged to the number of legal monasteries of the Basilian Fathers of theOrder of St. Basil the Great defensive type. A memorial was laid about the beginning of the XIII century not far from the prince Zvenigorod, on a less flat area of the elevated plateau, which passes on the border of the Western Bugue with the Davidiv-Golohir ridge near the modern villages of Mostische and Pidgorodysche. The territory of the monasterywas defined by one bulky ring-shaped defensive shaft and trench moose. Cherneche fortress occupied asmall area, which did not exceed 200 m². To enter the monastery and exit from it from the eastern andwestern sides of the sights were arranged footpaths that closed the gates. The great importance was thewatchtower, which was located near the monastery gate. During the field seasons 1997–2007, the sites of destruction of the eastern and western defensive shaftswere inspected, and the archaeological section of the defensive fortification on the north side of thesettlement was made, which made it possible to establish the peculiarities of its construction. The realstate of the monument, the place and depth of the cultural layer layout was investigated, traces of time-dependent ground and semi-underground structures, archaeological finds of everyday, economic, religious and other character were discovered.
