ПОРУШЕННЯ ЛЕКСИЧНОЇ МОВНОЇ НОРМИ В УКРАЇНСЬКІЙ ЕЛЕКТРОЕНЕРГЕТИЧНІЙ ТЕРМІНОСИСТЕМІ

Abstract
One of the most difficult tasks of modern linguistic studies is comprehensive research of linguistic norms. The relevance of our research is dependent on the necessity to characterise the deviation of lexical norms of the Ukrainian electric power engineering terminological system, and lies in the need to further unify and standardize this terminology. The objective of this paper is to examine typical cases of deviation from linguistic norms in the Ukrainian electric power engineering terminological system (UETS), to analyse the causes of these deviations, as well as provide proper linguistic recommendations, which will give electric power engineering experts the ability to normalise and improve professional jargon. An analysis of Ukrainian electric power engineering lexical norms determined that there is a significant number of nonstandard terms. They are classified into the following groups: nonstandard terms, which should be replaced by standardised equivalents; terms which are renewed through the substantiation of their parallel use and establishment in the terminological system; and ineffective terms that are actively functioning, even though they do not contradict literary norms and do not need to be urgently replaced with more appropriate forms. The study has found that the UETS process is progressing. The results of this terminological activity affirm the need to extend the application and standardisation of UETS and the creation of terminological endeavours for the benefit of Ukrainian electric power engineering experts. We consider that the standardisation of modern UETS as a set of designations of specialized academic concepts to be one of the most important directions toward the achievement of a proper and logical linguistic system. The prospect of our further research will be a study of the recognition of deviations of other linguistic norms in the Ukrainian electric power engineering terminological system.
