PRESENT STATE OF CASPIAN STURGEON RESERVES AND MEASURES ON ITS CONSERVATION

Abstract
The information on the state of beluga, Russian sturgeon and stellate sturgeon reserves in the Caspian Sea is given. The data on the abundance, biomass of the commercial reserve of the spawning population, on efficiency of natural spawning, the volume of young sturgeon release from Russian hatcheries are considered. The development prospects of sturgeon fishery in Russia are analyzed. The list of measures on conservation of sturgeon populations in the Caspian Sea is presented.
