Problematyka zadłużenia publicznego w Polsce w latach 1990–2010

Abstract
The aim of the article was to analyze the public debt in Poland in 1990–2010. For this purpose budget deficits, credit ratings, level and structure of public debt were analyzed. Moreover, the causes of public debt were described. The author has ar-rived at the following conclusions: 1. Poland has always had budget deficit after 1991. 2. Polish credit rating was getting better in 1990–2010. 3. Polish nominal public debt increased in the considered period. 4. Structure of the public debt has been changing. At the beginning of the period foreign debt was higher than national debt, but at the end of the period the structure was reversed. 5. The hidden debt was considerably higher than the official debt. 6. Public expenditures were rising.
