Professional hygiene procedures in patients wearing prosthetic restoration

Abstract
This article presents professional hygiene methods for prosthetic patients: scaling, polishing, air polishing, laser application, dentures debridement in ultrasonic devices. Professional hygiene procedures play a significant role in the prevention of caries, periodontal as well as systemic diseases. Proper oral hygiene maintenance allow the patients to keep prosthetic restoration functional and aesthetic for a long time. It is recommended to apply only those technics and materials which do not induce damage to the soft tissue, surface of tooth and prosthesis. For each patient the type and frequency of hygiene method should be selected individually.
