REACTION FORCES IN PARALLEL MECHANISM PAIRS
Journal Title: ROMANIAN JOURNAL OF TECHNICAL SCIENCES - APPLIED MECHANICS - Year 2016, Vol 61, Issue 3
Abstract
To calculate the links dimensions of a parallel mechanism, is necessary to determine the distribution of forces from its kinematic pairs. Also, the performance of such a mechanism can be evaluated after calculating the driving forces and reaction forces as well as the reaction moments from its kinematic pairs. To determine the force and moment distributions within the mechanism pairs, as well as the critical positions of the actual areas, the virtual mechanical work principle (J. Bernoulli, 1717) is used. For this, the links’ positions must be determined, meaning the sizes of the pair variables of all the mechanism kinematic pairs. The Denavit - Hartenberg transformation matrix method is used in this paper for both kinematic and kinetostatic analysis of the mechanism. The proposed method is applied to a multi-loop multidegree-of-freedom linkage of the Stewart platform.

AN ABSTRACT PATTERN FOR SOME DYNAMICAL MODELS
Previously, several models from mechanics and physics were found that satisfy the same polynomial equation, whose coefficients are purely abstract. These models are: the nonlinear pendulum, the Bernoulli-Euler bar, P.P....
DIFFERENTIAL-DYNAMIC LOGIC FOR COOPERATIVE ROBOTIC SYSTEMS
Hybrid systems are dynamical systems with interacting discrete transitions and continuous evolutions described by differential equations. They combine the digital and continuous physical effects resulting from the cooper...
ANALYTICAL AND NUMERICAL STUDIES OF FORMABILITY OF METAL/POLYMER/METAL SANDWICH SHEETS
The aim of this study is to analyze formability of three-layer metal/polymer/metal sandwich sheets. For this purpose, forming limit curves (FLCs) of sandwich sheets with particular configurations were determined using tw...
MECHANICAL WORK REDUCTION DURING MANIPULATION TASKS OF A PLANAR 3-DOF MANIPULATOR
The problem addressed in this paper concerns a planar 3-DOF manipulator operating in horizontal plane, that must move from an initial position characterized by angles θ1(0), θ2(0) and θ3(0) to a required final position c...
DEFORMATION BEHAVIOR OF A MAGNESIUM ALLOY SHEET WITH RANDOM CRYSTALLOGRAPHIC ORIENTATIONS UNDER VARIOUS LOADING PATHS
This paper reports deformation behavior under various loading paths at room temperature of a magnesium alloy sheet with random crystallographic orientations both experimentally and numerically. The flow stress under unia...
