Реалізація прямого методу навчання іноземних мов у підручниках з французької мови на Буковині (друга половина XIX ст.)

Abstract
Abstract. The article under discussion deals with the issue of implementing the direct method of foreign language teaching in the French language textbooks on the territory of Bukovina (the second half of the XIX century). The article under discussion traces out the sequence of work with the French language textbooks. It also describes the peculiarities of applying the direct method in the course of teaching French. The analysis of the textbooks, found in the course of the research, has enabled the author to claim that they were written in German, published in Vienna and used in Bukovina. In the period under studies, there were no the Ukrainian language textbooks for teaching French in Bukovinian schools. However, the above textbooks met all the requirements of the real school/ gymnasium students’ age peculiarities, as well as the requirements of the curricula, approved by the Austro- Hungarian Ministry of Religious Affairs and Education.
