Research of characteristics and efficiency of spatial arrangement of low-energy charges for block stone extraction

Abstract

In international practice, for the "soft" detachment of monoliths, the explosion uses the method of K-tubes containing specially designed and industrially manufactured charges of explosives with a low detonation speed. The article presents an investigation of a similar but more secure domestic analog made on the basis of available non-explosive materials and with the possibility of a spatial location at a given location of the hole, which leads to the preservation of the unit solidity with the simplicity and safety of using charges. The device for the block stone extraction has the form of a plastic tube with connecting elements, represented in the form of plastic nozzles, which are equipped with brake wings (feathering), that makes it also possible to combine the tubes with each other, extending the charge to the desired length. The investigated charges have low explosive temperatures and the heat of explosion is 1730.5° C (2003.65 K) and 516.9 kcal/kg respectively, and a negligible volume of gaseous products is 334 l/kg. According to the explosion heat, detonation speed and the volume of gases, low-energy charges are at the level of the best world samples, for example, K-tubes of Finnish production, which are in great demand in Europe. The tests have been conducted and the analysis of the efficiency of low-energy domestic charges like K-tubes for the block stone extraction using was carried out in the conclusions.
