Retrospective analysis of building codes requirements for frame buildings earthquake engineering
Journal Title: Вісник Одеської державної академії будівництва та архітектури - Year 2016, Vol 1, Issue 65
Abstract
The paper discusses the main features of building codes on the construction and maintenance of buildings in seismic areas. Main attention is paid to changes in building codes requirements for frame buildings, as well as for the general seismic zoning maps for the period 1937-2014. The introduction provides an overview of the requirements of regulations from different countries on a visual assessment of buildings’ seismic stability on a quantitative assessment of the impact of the codes base changes on seismic resistance of the object, and a brief review of the developed consolidated system of the actual seismic resistance assessment of existing frame buildings. This study focused on the first and second tiers of seismic resistance evaluation system. The main part of the work is given as a table of standardized parameters, which should be followed in the design, new construction, renovation and operation of buildings that are built or placed in areas with seismicity of 6 grade or higher on the scale of seismic intensity according to DSTU B V.1.1-28:2010. The possible application of the results of a retrospective analysis for visual estimation of the actual seismic resistance of frame buildings, as well as their certification are described.

Evaluation criteria of engineering and planning solutions of roundabouts
This article presents the results of the research of selection criteria for the evaluation of engineering and planning solutions of roundabouts, the advantages of the placement of roundabouts are presented. Different app...
Effect of basalt fiber on the viability of sand concrete mixtures
The influence of the basalt fiber on the viability of the sand concrete mixture and its mobility on the reference cone depth penetration is investigated. All sandy concrete had a cement/sand ratio of 1/3. In all mixtures...
Improving the design and calculation methods of precast-monolithic anti-seismic belt of buildings
The article is devoted to seismic resistance of buildings with new precast-monolithic belts. They, unlike monolithic ones, are performed in one cycle together with the laying of floors, without formwork and without inter...
Multidimensional statistical analysis of pollution of natural surface water
The article deals with the methodology of applying multidimensional statistical analysis to study the nature of pollution of natural surface waters. The initial variables were concentrations of pollutants, microbiologica...
The temperature limitations for cargo vehicles on Ukraine's motorways
In time of summer heat the temperature of road surface chemise can exceed bitum softening point. In this case cargo vehicles’ intensive current traffic results in road’s tearing away and rutting. During cold time the roa...
