Retrospective analysis of patients with kidney transplantation

Abstract
Aim: Kidney transplantation is the most effective treatment in patients with end-stage renal failure. The aim of our study was to evaluate our kidney transplant patients. Material and Method: Between April 2014 and April 2018, 120 patients with live kidney transplantations were retrospectively evaluated demographic characteristics, posttransplant complications, graft loss and mortality rates in these patients. Results: The mean age of the patients was 37.6 (3-67) years, 61.7% were male and 38.3% were female. Ninetyseven percent of our patients underwent living donor kidney transplantation. The average length of stay in hospital was 11 days. Eight point three percent of the patients had rejection and the rate of graft loss was 3.3%. The mortality rate was 4.2%. Conclusion: The number of kidney transplants in patients with end-stage renal failure is insufficient. The main goal in terms of patient health and comfort should be increasing the number of kidney transplantations.
