Rhino-Orbito Cerebral Mucormycosis of Dental Origin Associated with Post-Covid 19 Complication: Case Study

Abstract
Introduction: Most oral diseases and pathologies are linked and have common risk factors, which is why, seen in a general way, these cases must be correlated. At the end of 2019, specifically in the city of Wuhan, China, what would be the COVID-19 pandemic began, considered as such by the WHO. After two years, it can be seen how the pandemic has been decreasing its impact, however, there are different situations that have revealed new questions in the field of global health. In the case presented below, it is observed how COVID-19 and the inappropriate use of its treatment caused the development of rhino-orbito-cerebral mucormycosis. Objective:To inquire about the oral pathology rhino-orbito-cerebral mucormycosis of dental origin associated with a post-covid 19 complications in a 57-year-old female patient. Materials and methods:It was framed in the positivist paradigm, being a field-descriptive study, not experimental-longitudinal in the modality of a single clinical case. where the clinical history, informed consent,periapical radiographs, pre-operative examinations and radiographic camera were used as a method for data collection and obtaining them. The population and sample is made up of a 57-year-old female patient Results:Obtaining from the research that Mucormycosis and Covid-19 are linked as follows: patients suffering from Covid-19 present deregulation of immune responses, consumption indiscriminate use of corticosteroids (more than 10 days), inappropriate use of oxygen cylinders, and long-term therapy with toxilizumab. Conclusions:The main pathogenesis of the complications of this viral infection is due to the excessive immune response that leads to damage to the host's own tissues. This has resulted in the use of immunosuppressive drugs in the form of corticosteroids, interleukin antagonists, and various antibodies to counteract the inflammatory cytokines generated by Covid-19
