ROAD CHESTS, VALISES AND OTHER MEANS OF THE LUGGAGE TRANSPORTATION OF THE XIX – THE MIDDLE OF THE XX CENTURY IN THE FOUNDATION OF THE NATIONAL HISTORICAL AND ETHNOGRAPHIC RESERVE "PEREYASLAV"

Abstract
According to this article, there is a characteristic of the collection of the road chests, valises and other means of the luggage transportation of the XIX – the middle of the XX century in the foundation of the National Historical and Ethnographic reserve “Pereyaslav”. The main purpose of the scientific work includes the research of the stock collection, methodological substantiation of the exposition exhibition of road chests, suitcases, etc., which came to us during the time. There are a whole range of scientific methods: in particular historical-comparative, retrospective, problem-chronological, historical-logical analysis, synthesis, systematization and classification of museum exhibits. The scientific novelty of the research is manifested in the fact that at present, travel chests, suitcases and other means of transportation of luggage from the museum collection of the National Historical and Ethnographic Reserve "Pereyaslav" were not the subject of independent study and exhibition, therefore the analysis of this problem will help to comprehend the road mode of life of the XIX – mid XX century more comprehensively, the preservation and presentation of means of travel luggage, both for the narrow specialists, and for the general public in the museum collections of the Museum of folk architecture and life of the Middle Dnieper. Nowadays, a detailed study of these means of baggage transportation, their typology, purpose, place of production, decoration, techniques of production, using, are important not only for the museum, in particular, but also for anyone interested in the history of such things.
