Sample Analysis of Social Neolithic Burial. Case Study: The Necropolis of Cernica
Journal Title: Codrul Cosminului - Year 2009, Vol 15, Issue 1
Abstract
In this study, the author presents a new method of social analysis. He shows as an example the Neolithic necropolis from Cernica. This method demonstrates that a grave artifact should not be considered separate but within categories of objects. Applying this method on the necropolis of Cernica, it can identify four groups of wealth and rich graves (i.e. corresponding to the significant individuals in the community. The last ones exceed 3% of the total proportion, similar to that of the necropolis of Varna.
