School Readiness in the Implementation of in-Person Classes

Abstract

This study determined the school readiness in the implementation of in-person classes in Munai Central Integrated School, Munai District, Division of Lanao del Norte, School Year 2022-2023. It explored the school readiness in the full implementation of in-person classes; the readiness of the human resources of the school in the full implementation of in person classes; and the extent of the learners' numeracy-literacy readiness. The descriptive qualitative research design and random sampling was utilized with twenty one 21 teachers and thirty five 35 parents. Significant findings showed the school's high readiness for the implementation of in-person classes in managing school operations and community strategy and the moderate readiness in classroom layout and structuring, protective measures, hygiene practices and safety procedures; the school's human resources were highly ready for the personnel and teachers but only moderately ready for the parents and learners; and the learners' readiness in numeracy and literacy was only moderate. Significant conclusions stated that in the implementation of the in-person classes, challenges would be met if students were not fully equipped with the required skills. Significant recommendation was to strengthen policies for teachers to focus on teaching pupils and provide immediate solution for issues faced by teachers.
