SEASONS’ CONCEPT IN PUSHKIN’S ARTISTIC WORLDVIEW

Journal Title: Мова - Year 2014, Vol 0, Issue 21

Abstract

This article presents the linguo-cognitive analysis of the four seasons’ concept in the Alexander Pushkin’s works. The basis is the theory of the anthropocentric scientific language paradigm as a human’s experience tool of conceptualization and rationalization. The mentioned concept is a fragment of a great person’s artistic worldview. This concept has been qualified as a cogitative category, its detection is possible only due to lingual activation, and the artistic worldview as a worldview system, a unique way to watch the world, a special sense of reality perception. Pushkin pays a special attention to seasons in his creative work due to the following idea: «the climate, the kind of reign and religion give a special physiognomy to each folk and this physiognomy is more or less reflected in a poetry mirror». The seasons’ concept has been presented in this article as a composite structure consisting of four subconcepts, which characterized as a set of notional, perceptive-image and personally-attitudinal components. The main principle is dual binary opposition — a common-folk one and author’s personal one. The selection of features, appreciations, presentation displays the Russian national and author’s individual esthetic intents.
