SEKSUALNOŚĆ OSÓB NIEPEŁNOSPRAWNYCH INTELEKTUALNIE

Abstract
The problem of sexuality of people with disabilities is a very diffi-cult subject. From years supporters and opponents of sexual acceptance by this group of people roll hot disputes. Both sides have access to strong evidences and arguments. Surely every man is a biological being, who has the right to sexual activities, sexual tension can lead to negative be-haviour, even sexual violence – including rape. On the other hand there is a high probability to become pregnant, because people with intellectual disabilities are not able to comply with and apply methods of contracep-tion (both artificial and natural depending on the knowledge and faith). Children born out of such couples are often left to live in adoption and care centres. In this article the subject of sexuality of people with intellectual disabilities was taken, closer look was put on develop-ment of sexuality in both normal and beyond the norm. The concept of sexual initiation and forms of sexual activities of people with disabili-ties were brought to attention. This article also consist of argumentation of supporters and opponents sexuality of people with disabilities.
